The Szeged based Hungarian-owned Florin Zrt. has been one of the leading manufacturers of disinfectant-, cleaning and cosmetic products in the domestic market for decades.
Florin wants to become one of the leading manufacturers of household chemicals in the region. Its goal is not only to supply the Hungarian market, but also to be able to meet large export orders with its modern, efficient and flexible production.
In 2020 and 2021 Florin completely renewed and significantly expanded its production capacities, thus production can be quickly and flexibly adapted to different types of products depending on orders, consumer and contract manufacturing needs.
Florin produces more than 500 types of household cleaners, personal care products, and hospital and residential disinfectants. It can produce a large quantity of these in a short time, but it is also able to fulfill small series, individual orders.
The company's 4 main production areas: alcohol-based products (disinfectants, shaving products, perfumes), propellant products (deodorants, air fresheners, hair care), natural body care products (deodorants, facial care, body care products), biocidal products (disinfectants, insecticides).
Florin Zrt. has been producing Brado disinfectants in Szeged for almost forty years. With these, it provides healthcare with professional products, and the public with retail versions of the same products under the BradoLife brand name.
As a result of its own product developments in recent years, Florin manufactures, in addition to disinfectants and hygiene products, cosmetics for men and women, hair and foot care products, and household cleaners under own brand names.
Florin Zrt. also produces a number of well-known cosmetics and detergents (WU2, Ultra, Komfort) ordered by brand owner companies.
In 2020 and 2021, Florin played a prominent role in the supply of disinfectants to Hungary in the protection against the coronavirus epidemic in all waves of the pandemic.
Investment and development
During the one-year course of the epidemic, 4 million liters of disinfectants were produced at Florin Zrt.'s factory in Szeged, and 17 million products were delivered to hospitals, public institutions, schools and stores.
At the beginning of March 2020, Florin started the construction of a new production hall at its Szeged site after the appearance of COVID-19 in Hungary. By the end of April, the new production hall was completed, where production could start already during the epidemiological emergency.
At the permises of Florin, a total investment of 1.3 billion HUF was realized in 2020, which included the mixing and packaging equipment, the associated warehouse and laboratory in addition to the new 1,600-square-meter production hall. Part of the development came true with the tender support of the Hungarian Multi Program.
In 2021, Florin increased its disinfectant manufacturing capacity further, through the Egészségipari Támogatási (Healthcare Support) Program.
With the support of almost HUF 2 billion, it carried out its capacity expansion investment in half a year. A 4,500 square meter production hall was built and 6 new production lines were put into operation.
With the investment that was completed by June 2021, Florin will be able to produce 200,000 liters of disinfectant and 300,000 pieces of products per day.
As a result of the investment, Florin can make the bottles for its disinfectants itself, and can start the production of new disinfectant products. In addition, it is able to produce larger quantities of the necessary raw materials.
Following the realization of the investment, Florin will be able to supply the entire country with all the necessary disinfectants, even in the event of a serious and unexpected epidemic.
